Process

IMG_0025

I’m indebted to the artist who put this up in my neighborhood. The gritted teeth, the grim expression — it’s like that, yeah.

You want your writing to process, like with Pomp and Circumstance and fancy outfits. But sometimes what you get is more like processed, as in meat, and you’re trying to assemble ill-favored scraps into something appetizing.

In other news, I’ve just changed web hosts, and a few things seem to have gone missing in the transition. If you’re looking for something on sararyan.com and you can’t find it, please to let me know.

Oh yes. I’m down to the last few pages of (re-)(re-)editing a story after The Freelance Editor broke many of its bones. She did it so they would heal stronger, and I think that’s happening. But the process of knitting those bones back together? No fancy outfits, no marching, no fanfares in brass.

Back to slogging naked through the muck.

p.s. Thanks for recommending “The Writer’s Tale”! It’s helped me on the naked slog.

Glad to hear that Russell T. is helpful to you as well!

Adding to my own process frustration is the whole switching web hosts so as to perhaps not get so hacked in future. Figuring out Things That Are Wrong With The Website takes on a ludicrous degree of urgency and makes for excellent procrastination justification. Plus, shouldn’t I be making a Google + profile? Isn’t everyone hanging out there already without me? (Sigh.)
