Writing to sell, part one

So, pretty much every time I go to the Usual Undisclosed Location I find artifacts.

It turns out that in 1951, my dad took the Writer’s Digest short story course.

He saved the brochure.

I have scanned it in its entirety for the edification of the Internet, and will be posting it here over the next little while.

Note quirky angles, cigarette, mid-century furniture, haircuts:

Furrowed brow, pipe, Writer’s Market, Underwood, crumpled attempts, Look, Redbook:

Free lance, people.

This is insanely cool. The (highly-staged) Writer At Work! I’m surprised there isn’t a (half-empty) glass in the foreground.

Glad you like it! Many pages to come, including an editor in a suit that I covet.
