We flew from winter to spring. Came home to lots of kind cards, all much appreciated. Last night there was a small gathering of comics folks and I got to meet Larry Marder. Good conversation, comforting normalcy. The quotidian reasserts itself: cat is overdue for checkup, furnace needs inspecting, we need new window coverings due to predations of cat, bills need paying, and oh, yeah, there’s a world of laundry. Tasks to be accomplished. Items to check off to-do lists. Meetings to schedule and reschedule. Life to go on living.
P.S. In the “state of the nation” department, I will report that while in small-town Ohio, I spotted a car with the following three bumper stickers: God Bless America, Support Our Troops, and My Child Is An Honor Student But My President Is A Moron.
