Years ago, when the romantic lives of my circle of friends (and me) were more dramatic and volatile than (for the most part) they currently are, some of us took a road trip and saw a sign reading “Caution: New Traffic Patterns.” It immediately became code for “Uh oh, relationships are shifting again and nobody quite knows what’s going on.”
Here’s another one I just saw:
It struck me as good code, too, as I got off the plane that I hadn’t known the day before I’d be getting on.
Watch out. You think you know where you’re going, but the ground might not be where you think it is.
