That’s right. I just put up p. 196 to the end of Empress. It is all there, in sixteen podcasts. Complete with the occasional stumble over a word and a near-constant background hiss.
I really enjoyed recording these. I hope you like listening to them.
And heads up — More website changes are coming soon! Dear LiveJournal friends, please forgive me: I am going back to WordPress for blogging. But everything will be cross-posted to LJ. Rest of the world, you will no longer have the weird experience of having to click through to a totally different-looking page that claims not to be a LiveJournal, even though it clearly is, every time you want to comment. And there will be more cool stuff. More! Cool! Stuff! And all this is being facilitated by a ninja. From space.
Seriously.

March 27, 2007 at 8:57 amSo how did that work, making your own audiobook? Did you have to get permission from your publisher? And I’m assuming this means you’ll never be able to sell audio rights for it elsewhere?

March 27, 2007 at 12:37 pmhow: with my powerbook and the handy dandy garageband software. as for rights & permissions — let’s just say that i have not been besieged by audiobook publishers thus far. should they besiege me in future, my little DIY podcast would probably not be seen as competing with a professionally recorded audiobook.
standard disclaimers apply! not legal advice! etc. :)

March 28, 2007 at 4:44 pmI’m happy to have the chance to listen to any of your writing. Hurrah!
Do the ninjas from space work freelance? I have quite a few projects that I’d love them to handle for me.
