about Alice Tippit. I stumbled on her work while wandering around Seattle, and bought a tiny watercolor of a lovely woman’s head. She’s brunette, with pink cheeks and lips, wearing a high-necked Victorian dress with a lace collar. In elegant script, in pencil, next to the head, is written: “Lillian Forsythe: this enchanting creature has the foul mouth of a sailor.”
Among the paintings you can check out on her site, three of my favorites are The Marquise de Pompadour at the bus stop, a sitting of chairs, and serious matters were discussed. (The last two I think would be especially nice hung next to each other.)
And also, yes, it’s Monday, and that means what it usually means. But in a separate post.
