A story and an invitation

Not long after I’d finally — finally — decided on the title of my new book, I went to an estate sale, like you do. The deceased had gloriously gaudy taste in jewelry, and I was dazzled, but there was so much, it was sort of overwhelming.

Then I saw the pin — yes, that’s a pin — in the photo. The title — as you probably already know if you read this regularly — is The Rules for Hearts.

So if you’re in Seattle Friday night to attend the American Library Association Midwinter meeting, or if you just, you know, live in Seattle, stop by the Terrace bar at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel (411 University) on Friday, January 19th, from about 9-11 pm.

I’ll be there, wearing that pin. And I’ll have some items to give away. :)

Hey, are they finally throwing you a do? Will people be walking around conference with your ARC?

I still remember being your date (or maybe just a guest, but I like to think I was a date) at your first author do – you wore that yellow rose and strangers talked to you! Mind blowing! And good food, too!

When I first checked your site today I was distracted and thought the picture might have been a tatoo…

Oh well, maybe for your third book.

    ha!
no, it is just temporary adornment.
i love tattoos on others, but i’ve never found an image that i wanted to have on myself for, like, ever.
