A collection of rabbits’ feet (fake, I think and hope — I didn’t look too closely) hanging from a street sign in Northeast Portland.
Do you have any lucky objects?
What are they, and what luck have they brought you?
Post pictures if you want. Or a thousand words, instead. :)

September 13, 2006 at 4:47 pmI’ve always tried to adopt lucky things – rubbing stones, old pennies, pendants bought at special places, what-have-you. But they never stick, and I’ve concluded that I’ll be going through life without an emblem or token.

September 13, 2006 at 5:05 pmI can find 4-leafed clovers in a patch of clover better than anyone else I know.
As for what luck they might bring, I can’t tell. Luck is being open enough to notice the opportunities around you. So much passes us by because we’re shut up inside ourselves and brooding about how terrible our luck is.

September 13, 2006 at 9:27 pmLucky objects include a gold plastic scorpion from Archie McPhee back when it was a crazy old store instead of just a fucking kitsch brand and a ring that my grandfather made, the stone of which is cracked from some drunken incident or other.
I had a mummified rabbit’s foot that was my father’s but I lost it years ago. I keep meaning to buy a new rabbit’s foot and wait until all the hair falls off of the sumbitch but where the hell do you find a rabbit’s foot in this day and age? Pls advise.

September 13, 2006 at 10:03 pmwell, dude, at least yesterday, there were a whole bunch on a sign on alberta. you could totally grab one a’them, if you didn’t fear the karma. and if you were in town, which i dunno if you are.
hmm, and the lucky mojo curio company had some, but that site was last updated six years ago.

September 14, 2006 at 6:46 amI have fallen in love with Portland through your LJ photos.
I’m still looking for a lucky object. Although, on second thought, it’s probably a good thing I don’t have one. Because I would probably lose it. And then I would be convinced I would be unlucky for the rest of my life.
