This candy is shaped like a headless cooked chicken.

Allegedly it is caramel-flavored, but we could not bring ourselves to unwrap it.

What was the oddest thing you saw or experienced over the long weekend?

Oh *my*. That seat cover is a thing of… it’s a thing, isn’t it? Wow. I kind of want one now. Not sure if I want one badly enough to go to the trouble of acquiring one, but the interest has definitely been piqued.

Thank you for thinking of me!

I transported a pair of rubber waders across Brooklyn during the annual West Indian Carnival.

I also enjoyed Empress of the World. Thanks!

I spent much of the weekend at the Hamtramck Labor Day festival, where it was wall-to-wall odd for 4 days. One thing stands out: two women in full burkas passing each other on the street waved warmly to each other. How’d they know who they were? Also, the mayor was dancing with a bottle on her head.

wow- that’s totally odd that i too was visiting hamtramck for the labor day festival. since it was a street festival, we took my friend’s dog… but the dog wasn’t allowed in. so we went downtown instead, and there was a nice dog-friendly bar there….
