I read Black Hole by Charles Burns last night.
After I finished, I stayed up another hour making furious notes about everything it triggered. If you think of Fun Home as ultimately cerebral, this book is ultimately visceral.
Everyone, but especially capn_jil, if you haven’t read it yet, go, read.

July 21, 2006 at 10:21 amI read Black Hole in serialized format over the years but the collected edition is sitting on my nightstand, waiting for a good long uninterrupted timespan so I can re-experience it all at once.
(It’s one of the few books that the mere idea of reviewing is daunting because I’d want to “get it right” and I suspect that my attempts to describe and analyze it would fall short of what’s captured in my head.)
