I saw this article — The Cuddle Puddle of Stuyvesant High School — and thought: Wait, these people are characters from my books…
Sound like anyone you know?

February 3, 2006 at 3:16 amSounds like the Seattle Burning Man community, alright.
I’m that straight girl at the end of the article, ok for getting massages and pick-up lines, but really just wanting one fella for myself.
I’ve always thought I was about 5% bi…but truthfully, as open as I am to the idea, in practice it just isn’t there. I’ve been hit on my women probably 5 times in the last few months, and if I even have the urge to flirt back, it tends to die pretty quickly. Girls are just too squishy. I like whiskers and stubble and man-smell.
Somehow I feel like this makes me a bad Burner.

February 3, 2006 at 6:03 amPeople I used to be ! People I now loathe! The dynamic seems to be queer + nerdy + insecure in some aspect, meaning that you get real happy when you are paid physical attention to by other lovely youthies
Teenagers man!
I’ll stick with trolling for ass in less embarassing ways these days! Damn kids.

February 3, 2006 at 6:05 amAnd upon re-reading, actually, I never was one of those people. I was for the first couple years of college around those people, and I may have dated one of them, but I never quite rolled in the very same way these kids do. I think I was a little too innocent in high school and a little too quick to catch on in college, went straight for the drunken sex without the giggly hookups.
I cannot say more on the internet, for it is not a wise thing to speak ill of the past on the bathroom wall.

February 3, 2006 at 8:49 amI wish my highschool had been like that. I would’ve gotten a lot more action. Meaning more than none, of course.
Actually, those people seem somewhat vapid and annoying. But then, who wasn’t in highschool..
