There ought to be a name

…for the about-to-be-sick feeling. Not the about-to-throw-up feeling, but the sort of floaty, disconnected, throat’s a little weird, head’s kinda achey, I’m-going-to-have-a-cold-by-probably-this-time-tomorrow feeling. ‘Cause that’s the feeling I’ve got right now.

Due to impending crud, watched movies: The Aristocrats, which I highly recommend, Land of the Dead, which I don’t particularly, and a Spanish thriller called Nos Miran which was excellent and very creepy. I’m going to try to see more movies in Spanish, with the subtitles turned off, to see if I can keep my Spanish at least somewhat functional.

I know that feeling. I wish it would show up more than a few hours before whatever the bug is knocked me flat, though.

I don’t know whether Chris ever thanked you for the copy of Empress of the World that you sent when he first moved in with me. Jackie (the teen-angster) really enjoyed it and so did I. Thank you for sending that. Now go write more like it. :)

(Did he tell you we’re getting married on 10/29, next Saturday?)

In our household, we call that imminent-doom feeling “woogly”, as in, “I don’t really want to go out for coffee, sweetie. I’m feeling kinda woogly.”

When you have that feeling you should take this wonderful French drug called Fervex. If you can’t find that, plain paracetamol will also help.

(Paracetamol is the only drug I’ve seen that explicitly sttes: May be taken by pregnant women. :->)

¡Espero que te sienes mejor rápidamente!

I have heard so many good things about The Aristocrats that I want to turn it into a date movie for thuh missus and I. But we’ll probably wind up renting the DVD and watching it late at night long after the kids have gone to bed. I love the conceit, the expression of stand up comedy as a subculture with its own rituals, and the notion that a story is only as good as how you tell it. Which, y’know, duh, but still….
